Design and Development of a Website-Based Port Management Unit Office News Portal Information System Using the Waterfall Method

Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas perancangan dan pengembangan sistem informasi portal berita berbasis situs web untuk Kantor Unit Pengelola Pelabuhan Sarmi dengan menggunakan metode Waterfall. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah keterbatasan sumber daya manusia, teknologi, dan biaya yang menghambat penyebaran informasi secara cepat dan akurat kepada masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan portal berita yang dapat menyediakan akses informasi terkini, meningkatkan transparansi, dan mendukung komunikasi yang efektif antara kantor pelabuhan dan masyarakat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan meliputi studi pustaka, observasi, dan wawancara, sedangkan pengembangan sistem dilakukan melalui tahapan analisis, perancangan, implementasi, dan pengujian dengan metode Blackbox Testing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh fitur sistem, termasuk manajemen konten, galeri, dan repositori file, berfungsi dengan baik sesuai kebutuhan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa sistem informasi portal berita yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan aksesibilitas informasi dan pelayanan publik di Kantor Pengelola Pelabuhan Sarmi.
